Join us for our workshop….
July 14th to July 31st, 2025
This workshop is for actors, theater artists, and teachers. It is a collaboration between Per Brahe and the Karangasem Ensemble, a troupe of local Balinese theater artists who are transforming the iconic Balinese Theater into a new form. The workshop will consist of mask work, dance and voice training from indigenous Balinese theater artists, performances, and residence at the beautiful Bali Purnati Center for the Arts.
All Mask work will be under the artistic direction of Per Brahe, former teacher at Yale, NYU Tisch, Purchase, William Esper Studio, and many more.
Workshop managed by I Wayan Erik Wahyudi
Join us for this fantastic collaboration of world theater, which culminates in working with your own personal mask, created specifically for you.
The workshop’s artistic home:
Bali Purnati Center for the Arts
Our workshop will take place in the open air training hall, right above its dining room and across from its pool. The training hall is a short walk from the rooms where you stay, and the Arts Center is 20 minutes outside of Ubud, the home of countless different craftsmen in Bali of all trades and types.
Daily Schedule:
7am: Warm up with the sun coming over the rice fields
8am-9am: Breakfast buffet
